Complete Carbon Fiber Line

The carbon fiber production line can produce high quality carbon fiber with PAN-Based precursor. We started the research & development, manufacturing and sales of thermal equipment in 2006, and completed the first kiloton-level high-performance carbon fiber production line in 2016. Till now, we has successfully delivered 22 carbon fiber production lines to China and Korea (Hyosung), single line has reached an annual production capacity of 2700T with running speed up to 17 m/min. With different precursors, the carbon fiber can reach to T400, T700, T800 and even T1000 grade.
As for making a huge production line, we have specially set up a precision manufacturing subsidiary with internationally advanced intelligent CNC machining center, intelligent CNC laser cutting and welding production lines, intelligent CNC metal sheet production lines, intelligent automatic coating production lines and other machining equipment, which can guarantee high-quality and high-precision of carbon fiber equipment and an annual production capacity of more than 20 kiloton-level carbon fiber production lines. At the same time, the company has an experienced electromechanical hydraulic and pneumatic system installation service team with a complete line commissioning team which can make sure the turn-key project to be done within 12 months.

PAN-Based Precursor Creel for Carbon Fiber Line

Bobbins of precursor are loaded on an off-take Creel and the individual tows are presented to an eyelet board or comb to maintain tow position and identity prior to entry the Oxidation oven. The robot lifter will be used for loading the heaving bobbins (max.500kg).

Carbon Fiber Oxidation Oven

The carbon fiber band is passed horizontally a number of times through electrical or gas heated oxidation ovens connected in tandem, where the fiber is heated up to a temperature of about 220 – 300 °C. Each oven is heated by a bank of electrical elements or gas heater tubes, positioned on the discharge side of a variable speed air circulation fan. Air delivered from a heater bank is distributed to a pressure chamber and is discharged in to the oven. The uniformity of air velocity and temperature is the key point for the oxidation oven, with good uniformity the high quality carbon fiber can be produced.

Low Temperature Carbonization Furnace

The Low Temperature (LT) furnace is a multi-zone electrically or gas heated slot furnace with a corrugated D shaped high nickel alloy muffle. This design allows some sag (Catenary) of the fiber within the muffle, yet clears the bottom and also provides a well for collection of fiber debris. The corrugated muffle is to ensure rigidity at the working temperatures. At the inlet to the LT furnace the horizontal band of fiber passes through a stainless steel inlet gas seal chamber into the furnace proper. This gas seal comprises a long tunnel with a special entrance gate. The LT furnace is heated above and below the muffle with 6~7 zones so that its temperature profile gradually increases to a normal maximum of about 950°C.

High Temperature Carbonization Furnace

LT processed fiber is fed continuously into the High Temperature (HT) furnace. The horizontal band of fiber passes through a stainless steel inlet gas seal chamber into the furnace proper. This gas seal comprises a long tunnel with a special entrance gate. To obtain an efficient gas seal the inert gas is directed from within the tunnel above, below and at either side of the tow band and directed outwards towards the gate. The fiber is pulled through the furnace under tension by the Surface Treatment inlet drive unit and the degree of tension affects the fiber properties. High temperature processing takes place in a multi-zone graphite slot furnace heated with graphite resistance elements capable of reaching 1600°C.

Off Gas Treatment System for Carbon Fiber Manufacturing

The main component of the abatement system is the Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer RTO and TO with heat exchanger. The exhaust gas stream from the oxidation ovens is fed alternately by time-controlled dampers into one of the regenerator towers. It flows through the hot packed bed and is preheated in the process. Already most of the hydrocarbons have oxidized here. In the combustion chamber, the exhaust gas is brought to final reaction temperature. The incinerated hot pure gas then flows through another tower, and transmits its heat to the packed bed. The exhaust gas from the LT and HT is fed into a separate incinerator.

Winder for Carbon Fiber Production and Coated Fiber Processes

Each tow is pulled through the collection drive unit and then passed onto the on line winders. Selected rows are samples and their properties tested in the laboratory.
