The carbon fiber band is passed horizontally a number of times through electrical or gas heated oxidation ovens connected in tandem, where the fiber is heated up to a temperature of about 220 – 300 °C. Each oven is heated by a bank of electrical elements or gas heater tubes, positioned on the discharge side of a variable speed air circulation fan. The main component of the abatement system is the Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer RTO and TO with heat exchanger.
